Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Teaching Assistant to provide direct instructional services to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Key Responsibilities


Provide direct instructional services to students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth
Work closely with certified teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans
Assist with classroom management, behavior support, and student supervision
Support students with daily living activities, such as feeding, lifting, toileting, and hygiene
Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and achievements
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff
Participate in school events, trips, and activities
Assist with implementing classroom and school-wide safety plans
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Assume teacher responsibilities in the absence of the classroom teacher or as assigned


Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:


Certification as a Teaching Assistant in New York State
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
Knowledge of child development and learning principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents
Physical ability to lift and move students, as required


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience working with students with diverse needs
Training in crisis intervention and management
Knowledge of educational software and technology
Bilingual or multilingual skills

Hourly salary: $18.41 - $19.43, depending on experience and qualifications
