Certified Spanish to English Translator and Transcriber - Federal Clearance Preferred

Resolute Documentation Services is looking to contract with Certified Spanish translators to transcribe and translate documents from Audio and Video files containing a mix of Spanish and English. To be considered you must: • Be Court certified and/or ATA (or other agency) certified • Be Domiciled in the United States or its territories • Have a Federal Public Trust, HACI, or other Clearance or be willing to submit for one. For clearance, one must be of strong character and reputation, not have credit delinquencies or criminal convictions. • Have passed the ILR exam for Spanish with a score of 4 or higher or is a Native Spanish Speaker with an ILR score of 3 or higher in English. • Minimum of 5 years of professional translation experience. • Experience transcribing mixed English and Spanish from recordings and translating the Spanish you transcribed into English. • Experience translating for law enforcement, legal, intelligence or government projects All work will be performed in our systems with our tools. You will transcribe and translate into Word documents from audio/video provided by us, with a mix of spoken Spanish and English. Job types include verbatim, multi-speaker interviews, jail calls, body cams and others. Additional characteristics of Ideal candidates: • Expertise in multiple Spanish variants, including but not limited to, U.S. Spanish/Heritage Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Caribbean Spanish, Central Amercan Spanish, LATAM Spanish • Proven ability to transcribe Spanish audio accurately, including dialects, slang, regionalisms, and low-quality recordings. • Proficiency with CAT Tools, including Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat, Wordfast, or equivalent. • Knowledge of legal, law enforcement, and criminal justice terminology in both Spanish and English. • Strong professional ethics and compliance with confidentiality, privacy, and chain-of-custody protocols. • Flexible availability for high-priority, rapid-turnaround, or rush projects. • For clearance, one must be of strong character and reputation, not have credit delinquencies or criminal convictions. Responsibilities • Transcribe and translate audio and video files from Spanish to English accurately. • Edit transcriptions for clarity and coherence. • Proofread transcriptions to ensure accuracy and quality. • Translate written content from Spanish to English when required. • Utilize strong writing skills to produce high-quality translations.
