Certified Public Accountant - Part Time with Nonprofit Focus
Position: Part-Time In-House CPA, Nonprofit Focus
Preference given to candidates who can start immediately
Organization: Asian Week Foundation (DBA Florence Fang Community Farm)
Location: Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area
(Hybrid) Hours: 15–20 hours per week (flexible)
Compensation: $45–65/hour (DOE)
About Us Asian Week Foundation (AWF), doing business as Florence Fang Community Farm (FFCF), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting community-based cultural, educational, and agricultural programming. We advance local engagement through our own initiatives and fiscal sponsorship of aligned projects.
Role Overview We’re seeking a part-time CPA to strengthen our financial operations and support our growth. You will work closely with the Executive Director (ED), CEO, and CFO to lead accounting, compliance, and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
• Maintain full accrual accounting in Advanced QuickBooks Online • Reconcile bank/credit card statements monthly
• Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Oversee grant-related accounting and reporting • Mange payroll processing and payroll tax compliance
• Coordinate annual audits and prepare Form 990/state filings
• Develop internal controls and fiscal policies
• Provide financial analysis for budgeting and decision-making Qualifications
• Active CPA license required • 3–5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience
• Proficient with Advanced QuickBooks Online and GAAP fund accounting
• Skilled in grant budgeting and reporting
• Experience with nonprofit tax filings (Form 990, state returns)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills • Able to thrive in a small nonprofit environment
