Certified Coding Specialist - Remote Opportunity

As a Certified Coding Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and ethical coding of claims, preventing fraudulent billing, and maintaining the integrity of our data.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC coding guidelines, as well as excellent time management, decision-making, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
Audit EPIC work queues and paper charge tickets to ensure correct coding and compliance with federal, state, and commercial payor regulations
Educate staff and providers on accurate coding and documentation of levels of service, procedures, and ICD-10 diagnosis and HCC coding
Identify and solve coding problems prior to charge entry to ensure correct coding for physicians and our organization
Participate in special audits and peer review as instructed under the compliance yearly work plan
Interface with clinical and ancillary departments to answer coding questions and clarify new issues or services
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Minimum of three (3) years coding experience required; minimum of one (1) to two (2) years' experience in clinical setting or healthcare business office setting preferred
CPC certification or equivalent required
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPC coding guidelines
Excellent time management, decision-making, and communication skills
