About the position
The Central Services Technician I is responsible for performing various sterile processing functions to ensure the proper decontamination, quality assurance, sterilization of equipment, and distribution of sterile surgical instruments. This role is crucial for maintaining patient safety and quality care by identifying and addressing equipment failures and hazards.
Responsibilities
Ā Perform sterile processing functions including decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments.

Ā Ensure quality assurance in the processing of surgical equipment.

Ā Distribute sterile surgical instrumentation to various areas within the hospital and to outside service contracts.

Ā Identify and remedy equipment failures and hazards that pose risks to patient safety.
Requirements
Ā High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Ā 1 year of central supply experience is preferred.

Ā Knowledge of nursing procedures, aseptic technique, medical terminology, and infection control is preferred.

Ā WI-Certified and Registered Central Service Technician is preferred.
,
Ā IL-Certified and Registered Central Service Technician is required within 18 months of employment.
