Job description: How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:Carilion Clinic is seeking a skilled and motivated Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) to join our dynamic team in supporting the expanding Structural Heart Program. This position has been created to meet the growing demand for advanced procedures and to support three dedicated interventional cardiologists leading the program. Our patient volumes are steadily increasing, with a shift toward younger patient demographics, offering exciting opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need of cutting-edge cardiovascular care. Join us in a collaborative environment where your expertise will contribute to the continued success and growth of our Structural Heart Program. $15,000 Sign on Bonus for qualifying candidates. $5,000 relocation allowance.The CVT assists physician with direct patient care during catheterization or interventional procedures in the scrub, circulator, and monitor positions. Delivers quality service through a team-oriented, collaborative approach to care for adult and geriatric patients.
Provides direct assistance to physicians and patient to achieve optimum outcomes. Prepares patient and technically advanced equipment for advanced invasive procedures. Scrubs and assists physician during procedures. Advises and plans with physicians on procedural strategies and supplies. Assists in emergent conditions.
Assures patient, physician, and team needs are met during procedure. Serves as patient advocate, advising on medication for patient needs. Obtains and sets up procedural supplies and equipment. Operates x-ray equipment and administers medication under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician. Uses advanced critical thinking skills to manage emergency situations.
Monitors and interprets EKG and hemodynamics during procedures. Inputs data from patient history, labs, and current case proceedings including equipment/supplies and documentation for various databases, moderate sedation, pain management, and medication administration. Performs advanced data manipulation to obtain value areas, shunt calculation, and cardiac outputs in the Cardiac Catherization Laboratory. Performs advanced data manipulation to assist with electrophysiology studies and ablations.
Participates as part of procedure team to provide specific patient care functions such as transport, sheath removal, closure site care, etc. Participates in providing and assuring informed consent and patient education.
Contributes to Carilion Clinic's scorecard, performance improvement activities, and mission. Actively participates in obtaining desired service line outcome.
#cvi #crystalspringtowerWhat We Require:Education: RCV through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) preferred; Graduate of Allied Health Profession School (RRT, RTT) with board registry/licensure required or Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by the VA State Board of Medicine, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care or Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).Experience: Interventional Radiology or critical care experience preferred.Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current RTT or RTR status. AHS BLS-HCP required. Required to obtain/maintain AHA BLS based on specific work unit. Must successfully complete AHA ACLS within six months of hire date and maintain current status.Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamworking skills required.
