Category Analyst II - Kroger

Remote Full-time
Description • Own the end-to-end analytics engine that powers Kroger’s category growth. You will design, build, and refresh dashboards, scorecards, and ad-hoc models that translate raw syndicated and retailer data into clear, revenue-driving actions for every Kroger division. • Serve as the primary analytics partner to national and divisional Kroger business managers. You will translate their strategic questions into data-driven hypotheses, run the numbers, and present findings in concise, story-driven formats that influence assortment resets, promotional calendars, and pricing ladders. • Lead quarterly business reviews and monthly category deep-dives. You will prepare pre-read decks, facilitate discussion, and follow up with prioritized next steps that tie directly to incremental distribution points, shelf share gains, and margin improvements. • Architect and maintain a library of repeatable, value-added category management tools—think modular Power BI workbooks, Excel-based scenario planners, and space-planning heat maps—ensuring every stakeholder has self-service access to the latest insights without sacrificing analytical rigor. • Integrate multiple data streams (IRI/NPD, Kroger 84.51°, loyalty panel, shipment, and causal factors) into a single source of truth. You will validate data integrity, automate refreshes, and document methodologies so that insights are trusted and reproducible. • Translate consumer and shopper learning into shelf strategy. You will partner with insights and brand teams to overlay attitudinal segmentation, occasion-based demand, and trend data onto physical planograms, ensuring new items launch with optimal placement and velocity targets. • Monitor competitive activity and market dynamics in real time. You will set up alert systems for price gaps, promotional intensity, and innovation launches, then model the financial impact of counter-strategies before recommending action. • Coach and mentor junior analysts on best practices in syndicated data manipulation, storytelling, and client presentation. You will review their work, provide constructive feedback, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. • Travel 5-10% to Cincinnati and select Kroger divisions for in-person planning sessions, training workshops, and shelf-audit field visits—turning data on a screen into real-world execution excellence. • Uphold C.A.
