Cashier / Server
The Ministry DC is a coffee shop and wine bar serving the Union Station area owned and operated by sisters Elisa and Lulu. We serve delicious coffee, tasty food and unique wines with first class hospitality service. We are searching for energetic, positive people to join us either part-time or full-time, with opportunities for growth in areas where you think you can best contribute.
As a small restaurant/cafe, all staff must be ready and willing to impact all parts of the business. Our supervisors mop and do dishes, our baristas clean the bathrooms and prep food, and our dishwashers run food to our guests. Our ideal candidate has professional familiarity with at least one of the following key areas, and is excited and willing to learn more about the rest –
• Restaurant kitchens/food prep
• Specialty coffee
• Fine wine
• FOH service
• Restaurant managerial admin
We ask that all candidates believe in and demonstrate the following core values and skills:-
• Belief in teamwork and open collaboration across all aspects of the business. FOH and BOH work closely together, and rarely are roles strictly divided between the two.
• Willingness to learn our specific procedures and best practices, and to suggest new ones based on your own experience and expertise
• Ability to thrive in a diverse workplace
• Prioritization of customer service and experience – ability to create a warm, welcoming environment (or warm, welcoming food!) and diffuse challenging situations
• Strong attention to detail while working through fast-paced, dynamic situations
