About the position
The Carpenter Tradesperson at Sandia National Laboratories is responsible for performing carpentry tasks in a commercial construction environment. This role involves collaboration with various trades and management to ensure project success while maintaining safety and cleanliness on the job site. The position may require working in diverse conditions and non-standard hours to meet mission needs.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Perform carpentry in a commercial construction setting.

ā¢ Work inside and outside in various conditions at Sandia National Laboratories.
,
ā¢ Collaborate with other craft/trades on the same jobsite project to achieve mission success.
,
ā¢ Collaborate with management, safety professionals, planners, and all other areas.
,
ā¢ Maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
,
ā¢ May need to work non-standard hours to support mission needs.
,
ā¢ Plan and perform operations such as fabrication and installation of various structures and equipment.
,
ā¢ Erect, dismantle, align, level, rig, move, anchor, or install all types of machines and test equipment.
,
ā¢ Perform commercial carpentry, including fabrication and installation of cabinets, flooring, and partitions.
,
ā¢ Demonstrate knowledge in welding and cutting techniques.
,
ā¢ Utilize a computerized database to maintain required records.
,
ā¢ Consult with other tradespersons and act as a lead person, assigning work and training others.
Requirements
ā¢ Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial carpentry.

ā¢ Valid New Mexico state issued driver's license.
,
ā¢ Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform arc, inert-gas arc, gas welding and cutting.

ā¢ Ability to perform work using industry standard safety practices.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Commercial steel stud framing and drywall experience.

ā¢ Commercial hollow metal/wood door and frame installation experience.

ā¢ Commercial acoustical ceiling and seismic bracing installation experience.

ā¢ Commercial concrete forms and stair installation experience.

ā¢ Completion of a State certified carpentry apprenticeship or approved accredited program.
