What You'll Do: As a Remote Pharmacy Technician for CVS Health, you will be responsible for a variety of critical tasks that support our pharmacy operations in a virtual setting. Your primary responsibilities will include: Prescription Processing Support: Assist in processing prescription orders, including data entry, verifying patient information, and ensuring accuracy of medication details in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. Insurance & Billing Support: Verify insurance information, assist with prior authorizations, and resolve basic billing inquiries related to prescriptions. Patient Inquiries: Answer patient questions via phone or online messaging regarding prescription status, medication availability, and general pharmacy services, providing empathetic and clear communication. Pharmacist Coordination: Collaborate closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related questions or issues, and facilitate patient care. Electronic Record Keeping: Accurately update and maintain patient records, ensuring all documentation complies with company and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA). Compliance & Regulations: Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local laws, as well as CVS Health policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentiality. Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve routine issues related to prescription processing or patient inquiries, escalating complex cases as needed. What We're Looking For: Pharmacy Technician Certification: Active and valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) from a recognized national organization (e.g., PTCB, NHA) is highly preferred or required. State Licensure/Registration: Current and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license or registration in your state of residence, if applicable. Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician, ideally in a retail, call center, or remote setting, is a significant plus. (Training will be provided, but some foundational knowledge is beneficial). Exceptional Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in data entry and strong organizational skills are crucial for handling sensitive medical information. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional, empathetic, and patient demeanor for interacting with diverse patients and colleagues. Computer Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including experience with pharmacy management software, electronic health records (EHR/EMR), and virtual communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams). Self-Motivation & Reliability: Ability to work independently with discipline, manage time effectively, and maintain productivity in a home-based environment. Problem-Solving Aptitude: Capacity to analyze situations, identify problems, and find effective solutions related to pharmacy operations. HIPAA & Confidentiality: Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and a strict commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
