Campaign Fellow
The campaign of Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson is seeking Campaign Fellows for the 2026 election cycle in Michigan. Chris Swanson for Governor seeks to do what no Democratic campaign has done in over 60 years: succeed another Democratic Governor.
The Campaign Fellow will assist the campaign team and play an integral role in the only toss up rated open Governor’s race in the entire country. This internship can be remote or based in Genesee County, MI.
ABOUT CHRIS
Sheriff Chris Swanson has built a career centered on service to his community, combining his background in public service, emergency medicine, and education. Growing up in Grand Blanc, MI, he was shaped by a working-class family that emphasized hard work and the importance of taking care of others. For over three decades, Sheriff Swanson has dedicated himself to his local community in various roles, including as a police officer, paramedic, business owner, and professor. His strong ties to Genesee County have been further solidified through his election as Sheriff in 2020, a position he was re-elected to in 2024. Today, he oversees the 5th largest Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, leading with experience and a deep connection to the people he serves.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Fellows will be placed with the finance team, digital team, or the leadership team for a variety of internal operations and external communication tasks
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent attention to detail
Great interpersonal skills, and a positive and thoughtful attitude
Ability to communicate clearly and proactively
Experience with GSuite, Microsoft Office, NGP8, ActBlue is beneficial, but not required
JOB DETAILS
Pay: This is an unpaid position. Class credit available to those who participate and are eligible.
Hours: 10-30 hours per week
Location: In office in Flint, MI, or remote if needed
Reports To: Finance Director, Digital Director, and Campaign Manager
Target Start: August-September 2025 through August 2026
Hours: The position’s schedule will vary based on the day to day needs of the campaign.
