Responsibilities:
Developing detailed drawings of custom homes, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details.
Working closely with architects, engineers, and designers to understand project requirements and translate concepts into technical drawings.
Ensuring that all drawings comply with relevant building codes and regulations.
Proficiently using CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
Incorporating feedback and making revisions to drawings as necessary throughout the design and construction process.
Keeping comprehensive records of all drawings and revisions to ensure accuracy and accountability.
Communicating effectively with the construction team to address any issues or questions related to the drawings.
Keeping abreast of industry trends, new CAD technologies, and best practices to enhance design efficiency and quality.
Identifying and resolving design-related problems or discrepancies during the construction phase.
Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
A degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Previous experience in CAD drafting, preferably in the construction or architectural industry (+3 years).
A strong portfolio showcasing previous CAD drafting work, particularly related to residential construction or custom home design.
Extensive experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp.
Ability to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings of architectural designs, floor plans, and construction documents.
Understanding of local and national building codes and regulations.
Familiarity with construction industry standards and best practices.
Knowledge of architectural design principles and construction techniques.
Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Willingness to learn new software and technologies as they are adopted in the industry.
Ability to adapt to evolving design and construction practices.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and specifications.
Ability to identify and resolve potential design issues.
Good communication skills to collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
Aptitude for solving design and technical problems.

Compensation and benefits:
Full Time
Starting salary at $30.00 per hour, depending on experience
2 Weeks paid vacation with increase of 1 day per year with a capped paid vacation of 3 weeks
