CA Senior Claims Adjuster – Part-Time, Remote, Set Your Own Hours (20–30 hrs/week)
About the Role We’re looking for a seasoned liability claims adjuster to help our fast-growing personal injury law firm evaluate and resolve claims across auto, premises liability, and slip-and-fall cases throughout California. If you’ve ever reviewed a file and thought, “This case should’ve settled months ago,” this part-time role is for you! You’ll help us get through a backlog of open negotiations by identifying what’s missing, what’s strong, what’s weak — and why. You’ll work directly with our attorneys to assess exposure, evaluate liability, and recommend resolution strategies. You’ll review medical records, police reports, witness statements, client interviews, ect, to understand the story behind each case and translate that into a realistic settlement analysis. What You’ll Do • Audit 8–12 active cases per week for missing records, negotiation readiness, and litigation exposure. • Evaluate liability, damages, and comparative fault based on available evidence and statements. • Communicate directly with insurance adjusters for initial negotiation rounds — and potentially leave enough room for our attorneys to finalize and close. • Draft concise negotiation summaries outlining settlement rationale, case strengths, and potential risks. • Spot red flags early — whether it’s a risky deposition, a problematic client, or an uncooperative witness. • Recommend which cases should settle vs. move to litigation, with supporting reasoning tied to facts and exposure. • Collaborate remotely with attorneys, paralegals, and medical records staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution. What We’re Looking For • 7+ years of liability claims experience, ideally in personal injury, auto, or premises liability. • Deep understanding of how insurers value cases — and how to use facts to move them. • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can write a short risk memo that reads like a closing argument. • Excellent judgment and emotional intelligence; you can spot when a case (or client) might go sideways.
