C# .NET / VFP / C++ Senior Software Developer

Fully remote, part-time (approx. 20 hours/week) contract role for a strong C# .Net / Visual FoxPro / C++ developer. On-going project; must be available during the work week for meetings. Job Title: Senior Software Developer (.NET / VFP / C++) Location: Remote (must currently live in the United States) Job Type: Part time Job Summary We are seeking a versatile Senior Software Developer to support, maintain, and modernize our business-critical legacy applications. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Visual FoxPro (VFP) for maintaining existing systems, alongside proficiency in C++ and .NET for building new modules and migrating legacy data to modern platforms. Key Responsibilities Maintain & Support: Troubleshoot, debug, and update existing Visual FoxPro (VFP) applications. Development: Write high-performance code in .NET (C#) and C++ to extend functionality. Integration: Bridge legacy VFP systems with modern systems using web services and APIs. Migration: Develop strategies to migrate data from VFP/DBF tables to SQL Server. Documentation: Document code changes and database schema updates. Required Skills and Experience Visual FoxPro (VFP): Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in developing and supporting complex FoxPro applications. .NET Framework: Proficiency in C# and .NET for web or desktop applications. C++: Experience with C++ for performance-critical components. Database: Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database design, and data manipulation. Debugging: Excellent problem-solving skills to fix bugs in older codebases. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing UIs in SmartClient Experience with Web Services (SOAP, WSDL) Understanding of modern UI frameworks Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Apply tot his job
