Buyer – Defense Procurement

This individual will manage the full procurement lifecycle for materials, components, and services in support of Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of federal acquisition regulations, experience working with DCMA oversight, and a proven ability to manage supplier relationships within a highly regulated environment. You will collaborate across internal teams and with external partners to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective procurement execution. Job Description: Oversee cradle-to-grave procurement processes in full compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and company policiesPrepare and issue purchase orders and subcontracts aligned with DoD contract requirementsServe as the primary point of contact for suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to contract termsCollaborate with government personnel and DCMA representatives on inspections, reporting, and contract oversightInterpret and communicate contract clauses and quality requirements to suppliersConduct supplier evaluations, manage corrective actions, and support continuous improvement effortsSupport proposal and pricing activities by obtaining supplier quotes and contributing to cost analysisMaintain accurate and audit-ready procurement documentation, including for CPSR reviewsPartner with internal teams across engineering, quality assurance, and program management to align procurement efforts with project goalsMonitor industry and regulatory updates to ensure ongoing compliance Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with a focus on DoD and DCMA contractingStrong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related federal procurement regulationsProven experience interfacing with DCMA and supporting government contract complianceProficiency with ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint, Oracle, or SAPExcellent negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Additional Information ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
