BUSINESS TAXES ADMINISTRATOR I, BOARD OF EQUALIZATION

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is responsible for collecting revenue that supports essential public services in California. The Business Taxes Administrator I will manage compliance and administrative functions, promote compliance, deter fraud, and lead investigations to ensure adherence to tax programs administered by CDTFA. Responsibilities Manage and control vital day-to-day operational functions to promote compliance, deter fraud/tax evasion, and enhance compliance for all programs administered by CDTFA Direct team members to conduct investigations, identify non-compliant entities, review, research, and act upon leads Visit businesses, analyze cases, and evaluate books and records and financial documents Integrate and apply practices, policies, and procedures across both compliance and audit functions Work with external teams to keep work coordinated, managed, and productive Motivate, train, and develop team members and monitor employee performance Travel up to fifty percent (50%) of the time, including overnight travel SkillsThis employer participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.; for more information about E-Verify, please go to www.dhs.gov/e-verify Position requires employee to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a background investigation Travel is required fifty percent (50%) of the time Position may require overnight travel for up to one or more consecutive nights to meet training requirements Have a permanent civil service appointment with CDTFA, or Are current or former employees of the legislature for 2 or more years as defined in Government Code 18990, or Are current or former non-elected exempt employees of the executive branch for 2 or more consecutive years as defined in Govt.Code 18992, or Are persons retired from the United States military honorably discharged from active duty with a service disability or honorably discharged from active duty as defined in Government Code 18991.
