Job description: DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join the Whole Page Planning and Optimization (WPPO) team in Search. The latest data from Business Insider shows that almost 50% of online shoppers visit Amazon first. The Search WPPO team is responsible for developing reinforcement learning systems for the next generation Amazon shopping experience and delivering it to millions of customers. We believe that shopping on Amazon should be simple, delightful, and full of WOW moments for EVERYONE, whether you are technically savvy or new to online shopping.As a BIE, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines to process and analyze large-scale search interaction data
Create comprehensive dashboards and reports using tools like QuickSight/Tableau for real-time monitoring
Partner with Applied Scientists and Engineers to measure the effectiveness of ML models
Build analytical frameworks to evaluate A/B test results
Develop automated monitoring systems for business-critical metrics
Lead cross-functional analytics initiatives with product, science, and engineering teams
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience writing complex SQL queriesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
