Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, working remotely within the USA. In this pivotal role, you will harness your expertise in data analytics, data warehousing, and cloud technologies to develop robust business intelligence solutions. Your efforts will empower stakeholders with actionable insights, drive strategic decision-making, and optimize data-driven processes across the organization. Duties • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like Informatica, Talend, and Apache Hive to facilitate efficient data integration from diverse sources such as AWS, Azure Data Lake, and on-premises databases. • Build and optimize data warehouses utilizing SQL Server, Oracle, and other relational databases to support complex analysis and reporting needs. • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Looker and other visualization tools to deliver real-time insights to business teams. • Implement and manage big data solutions leveraging Hadoop, Spark, and related technologies for processing large datasets effectively. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality BI products on time. • Write advanced SQL queries, Python scripts, Bash shell scripts, and VBA macros to automate workflows and enhance data analysis capabilities. • Integrate RESTful APIs for seamless data exchange between systems while ensuring security and performance standards are met. • Participate in model training activities for predictive analytics projects by applying machine learning techniques and analysis skills. • Design database schemas and optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and schema refinement to support scalable analytics solutions. • Conduct analysis of linked data sources to identify patterns or anomalies that inform strategic initiatives or operational improvements. Qualifications • Proven experience in Business Intelligence development with a strong understanding of AWS cloud services such as S3, Redshift, or Glue. • Proficiency in Java programming for building scalable data applications alongside Python for scripting automation tasks. • Extensive knowledge of big data ecosystems including Hadoop, Spark, Apache Hive, and Azure Data Lake. • Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle databases, and Data Warehouse architecture design principles. • Familiarity with visualization tools like Looker or similar BI platforms for creating insightful dashboards. • Strong understanding of ETL processes using Informatica or Talend tools combined with Shell Scripting (Bash) for automation purposes. • Experience working within Agile methodologies to deliver iterative BI solutions efficiently. • Knowledge of RESTful API integration techniques for connecting disparate systems securely. • Ability to perform model training using machine learning frameworks coupled with solid analysis skills for deriving actionable insights from complex datasets. • Excellent database design skills with an emphasis on performance optimization in large-scale environments. • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
