Business Closure Consulting Needed
We are seeking an experienced business compliance consultant to help us fully and properly close a Colorado-based LLC partnership that ceased operations in 2025.
The company has been legally dissolved with the Colorado Secretary of State. We are currently working with tax preparers to complete our 2024 and 2025 federal partnership tax returns (Form 1065, with 2025 to be marked as final). However, we need a knowledgeable consultant to oversee and coordinate the full compliance process to ensure no federal or state requirements are missed.
Our bookkeeping (QuickBooks) has been reconciled to the best of our ability, but it is not perfectly clean and likely needs review before final tax filings are completed.
We are looking for someone who can:
• Review and organize our QuickBooks records to ensure they are tax-ready
• Coordinate directly with our tax preparers to provide any required financial documentation
• Confirm all required federal filings (Form 1065 and K-1s for all required years) are submitted and properly marked
• Review IRS account transcripts to verify filing history and outstanding balances
• Assist with resolving a 2023 IRS penalty related to partnership filing compliance
• Review our Colorado Revenue Online account to resolve outstanding sales tax filing issues (system currently shows closed status but still lists open periods)
• Confirm all Colorado Department of Revenue accounts are properly closed
• Provide a final written confirmation summarizing that all required filings have been completed and the business is fully closed from a compliance standpoint
We are not looking for basic bookkeeping only. We need someone experienced with small business wind-downs, IRS partnership filings, and Colorado state compliance.
Our goal is to fully close this business cleanly and ensure there are no outstanding filing gaps or future compliance surprises.
Timeline is flexible but we would prefer to resolve this within the next 30–45 days
