Business Analyst (Power BI/Power Apps)

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with some PM skills. The key to this position is expertise in Power BI, Power Apps and SharePoint.

This position is 100% remote with EST zone preferred.

The Senior Project Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks, and to identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities include a full range of activities from leading small to mid-size projects to assisting project managers on larger more complex projects related to operational business functions. The Senior Project Business Analyst will use project management methodology and defined skills as outlined in the PMI-PBA skill set to manage project Business Analyst responsibilities within the assigned project deliverables. These include but are not limited to: identifying key stakeholders, gathering business requirements, developing project deliverables as defined in the phase gate methodology, defining resource requirements (both business and IT), defining business analysis project tasks, deliverables, and milestones that need to be included in the project plan. The Senior Project Business Analyst works collaboratively with the Project Manager, each bringing their unique skill sets to the betterment of a successful project delivery to ensure end-user satisfaction.

• Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation, adjusting schedules when necessary, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following proper escalation paths for change control, and managing customer (attorneys/staff) and vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders in the development of project goals and objectives.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of the business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and the context in which the practice area operates.
• Elicit and document business requirements and secure approvals (functional & technical designs).
• Analyze and elaborate requirements by performing various business analysis activities such as developing current-state and future-state business workflows, context diagrams, swim lanes, problem and scope diagrams, fit/gap analysis, etc.
• Use defined business requirements to assist in development of use cases, leveraging the use case definition for user adoption and/or business process re-engineering (BPR) efforts.
• Manage traceability and monitoring of requirements to update and communicate requirements status.
• Manage and document cross-work stream processes and system dependencies, ensuring those integration requirements are properly documented.
• Work with business leaders to define a parallel test plan and timeline. Ensure user engagement when defining acceptance criteria to encourage adoption. Provide assistance to end-users during the User Acceptance Testing process.
• Define and document the Test plan. This includes documenting the related test scripts as required by the project for Unit, System Integration, Compatibility and Performance testing.
• Provide overall project leadership for the testing phases of all assigned projects. Key deliverables include documented test plans and scenarios, documented test scripts, overseeing the testing process from end-to-end for assigned projects, including tracking deviations and remediation.
• Provide timely communication to the program manager and appropriate key stakeholders on status, issues, and risks, during the testing phases.
• Track updated accomplishments, milestones, key issues, risk and/or change controls.
• Establish and facilitate routine working group meetings.
• Create weekly project and status reporting for the Project Manager when needed.
• Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others – articulating ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers and others, identifying and initiating projects, managing resources, driving the resolution of issues, and holding self and team accountable for results.
• Mentor junior and mid-level project Business Analysts as needed.
• Other duties as requested and assigned.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years of project or program management experience. Law firm experience is highly desirable. PMI-PBA certification or IIBA certification preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project. Proven aptitude to learn new software applications.
• Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to common inquiries or complaints from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Interpersonal communication skills necessary to maintain effective relationships, manage and exceed expectations, and to exhibit a high degree of responsiveness, diplomacy, and professionalism in these interactions.
• Strong project management skills. Project and team management experience with attention to detail and a willingness to “roll up sleeves” and operate at whatever level is needed to accomplish tasks. Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lead and facilitate discussions in cross-functional teams and to solicit information from key decision-makers to triage and resolve issues. Experience leading strategic initiatives such as large-scale system integration.
• Detail and deadline oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to work independently. Impeccable documentation skills.
