Build AI-Powered Analytics System for Neto / Maropost Ecommerce Data (API + PostgreSQL + OpenAI)
Hi there,
I’m looking for a developer or data engineer to help us build an internal AI-assisted analytics system using our Neto by Maropost ecommerce data.
Our goal is to allow our team to ask natural-language questions about our historical sales and product data (via ChatGPT or a similar AI interface) and receive accurate answers, reports, and downloadable CSV/Excel outputs.
Background
We operate an ecommerce business using Neto by Maropost. We currently have approximately:
• ~340,000 historical orders
• ~44,000 products
• customers, suppliers, purchase orders, inventory data
• roughly 10 years of historical data
We want to consolidate this into a database and build an AI-powered query layer that lets us extract insights and reporting much faster than traditional reporting tools.
Examples of questions we want to ask the system
• “Provide quantity sold for all products from supplier X for October, November and December 2024 (export as CSV).”
• “Which SKUs have had stock on hand but zero sales in the last 6 months?”
• “Show monthly sales trends for supplier X over the past 3 years.”
• “Identify products with declining sales and suggest pricing or visibility improvements.”
In a later phase we also want to incorporate competitor pricing comparisons for our SKUs and generate recommendations for improving product visibility and conversion.
High-level requirements
The system would likely involve:
Extracting data from Neto/Maropost (API or scheduled exports)
Storing it in a structured database (e.g. PostgreSQL or similar)
Building an automated data pipeline to keep the data updated
Creating a query layer that allows AI tools (OpenAI / ChatGPT) to retrieve structured data
Returning responses in human-readable format and optionally CSV/Excel files
We are open to the technical approach, but tools such as n8n, PostgreSQL, Python/Node APIs, and OpenAI integration seem likely candidates.
Deliverables
Ideally the project would include:
• database schema and data model
• automated data ingestion from Neto
• query API or service
• ChatGPT / AI integration for natural-language queries
• ability to export results to CSV/XLSX
• basic documentation so we can maintain the system
