This position involves conducting comprehensive studies, tracking state and federal laws, analyzing departmental budgets, and developing strategies to meet budget targets while ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities • Conduct analyses of complex systems and programs, focusing on financial aspects. • Coordinate comprehensive studies and reviews of fiscal, policy, and operational issues. • Track and analyze state and federal laws and determine implications for the department. • Review legislative proposals and analyze the department's budget. • Identify policy and financial issues and develop, interpret, and monitor the budget. • Monitor, evaluate, and revise financial operations for compliance with legal, federal, and state regulations. • Develop strategies with managers to meet budget targets while addressing operational needs. • Review and revise policy analysis and complete fiscal analysis in preparation for legislative sessions. Requirements • Six years of progressively responsible experience in budget preparation, analysis, and administration. • Experience must include modeling and forecasting fiscal information. • Bachelor's degree in business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related degree may substitute for three years of experience. • A graduate-level degree may substitute for four of the six years of required experience. • Demonstrated experience with budget preparation and administration. • Ability to communicate complex mathematical and analytical concepts to a non-technical audience. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Proficiency with spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office applications.
