As a key member of our Office of Recruitment, Cultivation and Diversity, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of new teachers in our BPS Teaching Fellowship program. Job Summary
The BPS Teaching Fellowship Specialist will provide coaching, mentoring, and support to up to 15 Teaching Fellows during their first year of teaching. This includes observing and analyzing Fellows' performance, developing and facilitating professional development, and providing on-site support at various schools. The Specialist will also collaborate with school administrators, program administrators, and other stakeholders to enhance support for Fellows and promote the development of a professional learning community.
Responsibilities
Provide coaching and mentoring support to Teaching Fellows, including observing and analyzing performance, and providing feedback and support
Develop and facilitate professional development and online coursework for Fellows
Collaborate with school administrators and program administrators to enhance support for Fellows
Participate in planning and executing professional development for BPS Teaching Fellows
Moderate online coursework aligned with teacher certification
Plan for and facilitate a summer orientation program for BPS Fellows
Support the development of a professional learning community among BPS Fellows
Requirements
Valid Massachusetts professional teaching license
K-12 teaching experience
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in coaching or mentoring educators
Experience in developing and leading teacher professional development
Ability to track and analyze data
Strong facilitation and presentation skills
