Boomi Integration Specialist

What success looks like in this role: OverviewMIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a senior Boomi integration specialist to embed within its internal IT development organization and accelerate the enterprise adoption of the Boomi integration platform.The laboratory has already implemented the Boomi platform, trained multiple developers, and begun initial integrations. However, adoption across development teams has progressed more slowly than anticipated, as many engineers continue to rely on legacy integration approaches and are still building confidence with the new platform.To address this, MIT LL wants a hands-on Boomi practitioner who can act as an internal champion, working directly alongside developers to build integrations, mentor teams, and accelerate production use of Boomi across multiple application initiatives.The goal is not simply to add development capacity, but to enable internal teams to become proficient in Boomi while delivering real integration work, establishing the platform as the standard integration approach across the organization.The consultant will embed within MIT LL’s development team and will:Develop integrations directly on the Boomi platform in collaboration with internal development teamsCo-develop solutions with MIT LL engineers to demonstrate Boomi integration best practices and architecture patternsMentor and guide developers who have completed Boomi training but require hands-on experience applying the platformHelp accelerate delivery of real integration projects and operational use casesProvide technical guidance on common enterprise integration patterns including REST/HTTP APIs, database integrations, and ServiceNow connectivityTroubleshoot integration issues and help teams resolve technical challenges as they adopt BoomiAct as a Boomi champion within the organization, helping expand adoption across multiple development groupsSupport internal enablement activities such as demonstrations, workshops, or knowledge-sharing sessionsYou will be successful in this role if you have:MIT LL is seeking a strong hands-on Boomi developer with the ability to mentor others, including:Deep experience with Boomi integration developmentStrong understanding of API integration and enterprise integration patternsExperience integrating with databases (e.g., Oracle), REST services, and enterprise platforms such as ServiceNowAbility to work collaboratively with multiple development teamsStrong communication and mentoring skillsExperience helping organizations adopt and operationalize integration platformsEastern working hours preferredEngagement ModelInitial requirement for one full-time embedded consultantEngagement expected to run approximately 12 monthsPotential expansion to a second resource if adoption increasesResource will operate as part of MIT LL’s development team, supporting multiple integration initiatives and helping establish Boomi as a core enterprise integration capability.This role may require access to export-controlled commodities and technology.
