Book Interior Layout, Typesetting, and Formatting for Print and eBook – Fixed Project
I am seeking an experienced book layout and typesetting designer to prepare a spiritually reflective memoir for self publication. The manuscript is approximately 60,000 words and will be published in both print and eBook formats via Amazon KDP and IngramSpark.
This is a fixed, one time project. two milestones. 1-pre & post proofreading 2- post acceptance by KDP & IngramSpark
The scope includes complete interior layout and professional typesetting for the print edition, as well as properly structured and formatted files for the eBook edition. All files must meet Amazon KDP and IngramSpark technical specifications.
I am looking for a clean, elegant, and timeless interior design that complements a contemplative, literary tone. Experience with memoirs or spiritual nonfiction titles is strongly preferred.

The selected designer will be responsible for the complete visual and technical preparation of the book interior for both print and eBook formats.
Print Interior Layout and Typesetting
Formatting to the agreed trim size (5 x 8.5 inches)
Professional margin and gutter settings
Proper header and footer structure
Accurate and consistent pagination
Thoughtful chapter opening layout
Clear typographic hierarchy
Professional font selection suitable for literary nonfiction
Line spacing optimized for long form readability
Clean, refined, and timeless interior aesthetic
Full compliance with Amazon KDP and IngramSpark print requirements
eBook Formatting
Kindle compatible file formatting
Clean digital structure optimized for reflowable text
Properly linked table of contents
Logical chapter flow and navigation
Cross device compatibility testing
Validation against Kindle preview standards
Workflow and Timeline
The manuscript will be delivered fully copy edited and finalized before layout begins.
The designer will provide a first print interior PDF proof for review.
A separate proofreader will review the laid out interior PDF.
Following proofreading, the designer will:
Implement all approved corrections
Resolve pagination, spacing, and layout refinements
Deliver final print ready files and validated eBook files
Amazon KDP and IngramSpark Publishing Support
The designer must:
Deliver files fully compliant for both print and eBook submission on Amazon KDP and IngramSpark
Assist with or guide the author through:
File upload for print and eBook editions
Preview validation
Resolution of any technical formatting warnings
Revisions and Deliverables
Minor layout refinements and post proofreading corrections must be included.
Final deliverables:
Print ready interior PDF (for KDP and IngramSpark)
Validated Kindle ready eBook file

The manuscript and all related materials are confidential and remain the sole intellectual property of the author. No portion of the manuscript, drafts, edits, or related content may be shared, reproduced, or disclosed outside the scope of this project.
