Bodily Injury Adjuster, Litigation (Remote)
Summary
Responsible for the investigation, evaluation and negotiation of bodily injury claims. Must be able to manage multiple disciplines and have good analytical, documentation and negotiation skills. Must handle litigated and non-litigated bodily injury claims.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
ā¢ Initiate the relevant investigation required upon receipt of new losses
ā¢ Obtain statements from all parties involved, either written or verbal
ā¢ Document all activities on the claims notepad
ā¢ Index all injured claimants
ā¢ Maintain a diary on all files
ā¢ Make liability determinations based on appropriate investigation
ā¢ Obtain and review medical records to determine injury value
ā¢ Maintain appropriate claim reserves
ā¢ Adhere to HIC policy relating to reserve and settlement authority
ā¢ Complete large loss reports in compliance with HIC policy
ā¢ Negotiate settlements with claimants and/or attorneys
ā¢ Contact other carriers to obtain injury information
ā¢ Manage litigation by directing defense counsel and monitoring costs
Other Duties
ā¢ Adhere to HIC policy and procedures
ā¢ Follow supervisory instruction
Qualifications
ā¢ Understand liability, comparative negligence and how to apply it.
ā¢ Strong negotiation skills.
ā¢ Proficient in handling litigated bodily injury claims.
ā¢ Computer literacy.
