ABOUT THIS POSITION The Merchant Boarding Specialist will play a pivotal role in configuring merchant accounts across various payment processing systems, ensuring seamless integration and activation for new and existing merchants. This position involves managing the end-to-end merchant boarding flow, including entering and validating all necessary merchant information, setting up accounts in internal and external platforms, and conducting thorough testing to confirm that payment processing is functioning as intended. The Boarding Specialist will be the primary point of contact for troubleshooting setup issues, responding rapidly to resolve any technical or operational problems and minimizing downtime for our clients. In this dynamic role, you will frequently shift priorities to address the evolving needs of the business, including supporting ad hoc projects and requests. The ability to extract, analyze, and report on data is essential for supporting these ad hoc projects and requests, in addition to driving process improvements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to ensuring a smooth onboarding experience, and you will be expected to contribute your expertise to enhance merchant setup procedures and documentation. This role will be the intersecting point of imperative merchant information, holding the key to a smooth and pleasant onboarding experience for new and existing customers. WHAT YOU'LL DO Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Import all inbound merchant accounts into a working spreadsheet on a daily basis Work through queue of merchant accounts by configuring into all appropriate systems for seamless credit card processing Test all merchant accounts that are set up to ensure proper configuration Act as a subject matter expert on merchant processing flows and the first point of escalation for merchant account setup issues, whether for new or existing clients Creating and maintaining knowledge articles/content and troubleshooting guides for internal teams for new operational workflows and training teams on appropriate paths for escalation Keep the department leader apprised of any escalations needed during merchant boarding and status of assigned work Pull and analyze data as needed for ad hoc projects or requests Maintain an acceptable audit score and daily output for merchant boarding workflows Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for clients WHAT YOU'LL NEED The requirements for the position are as follows: ● Strong organizational and prioritization skills ● Strong verbal and written communication skills ● Project management skills ● Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others ● Ability to take lead and drive for results ● Ability to create and execute project plans ● Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information ● Ability to use inductive reasoning ● Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver ● Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills Education and Relevant Experience: Bachelor’s Degree Required or equivalent work experience 3+ years of work experience with a preference of 1 year in a relationship/project management in an operational focused role Excellent verbal communication skills Experience with project management Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills is required ABOUT WAYSTAR Through a smart platform and better experience, Waystar helps providers simplify healthcare payments and yield powerful results throughout the complete revenue cycle.
