Board Certified Neurological Ophthalmology Physician Advisor

Dane Street is expanding our physician panel! This is a telework opportunity for supplemental income for physicians providing a caseload customized to your schedule. Our physician panel is comprised of independent contract reviewers (1099) compensated on a per-case basis.Candidates will hold a valid state medical license and be Board Certified in Neurological Ophthalmology.**Candidates must have the ability to conduct case reviews and consultations from their home office.**RequirementsJOB SUMMARYAs a Physician Advisor specializing in Neurological Ophthalmology for Independent Medical Exams (IME), you will utilize your expertise to review medical records, interpret the medical necessity of services, and provide recommendations based on insurance claims and client-specific guidelines.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review all medical records thoroughly and address each question posed by the client using client-specific criteria or other nationally recognized evidence-based guidelines.Ensure that the rationale for determinations is clear, concise, and well-supported with documentation.Utilize relevant criteria and resources such as national, state, and professional association guidelines and peer-reviewed literature to support sound decision-making.Provide copies of any criteria utilized in a review along with the report in a timely manner.Return cases by the specified due date and time.Conduct peer-to-peer calls or follow-ups as required by client-specific protocols.Maintain proper licenses and credentials as well as participate in necessary training.Address quality assurance issues, complaints, and provide addendums as needed.Board certification and active practice are required.BenefitsRobust opportunity for supplemental incomeSchedule flexibility and predictable work hours - You choose services and case types, dictate volume, and conduct exams and reviews based on your schedule availabilityNo doctor/patient relationship is established and no treatment is provided.
