Position Title: BizTalk Architect / Integration Migration Consultant (BizTalk 2016) Job Location: Remote Duration: 4–6 weeks (flexible hours) Description: BizTalk Architect / Integration Migration Consultant (BizTalk 2016) Engagement Type: Contract / Consulting Location: Remote Start: ASAP Overview Our client is planning a strategic migration off BizTalk Server 2016 ahead of its end-of-life and the sunset of several dependent internal components. The organization is transitioning integrations to an internal integration platform and is seeking an experienced BizTalk Architect to assess the current environment, identify hidden risks or complexities, and guide a low-risk migration strategy. This role is highly technical and advisory in nature. The consultant will work closely with internal engineering stakeholders but will not interface directly with external customers or suppliers. Key Objectives • Perform a comprehensive assessment of the existing BizTalk 2016 environment • Identify undocumented dependencies, customizations, or architectural risks • De-risk the migration by surfacing hidden complexity early • Provide expert guidance on migration strategy and execution planning • Support a clean transition from BizTalk to an internal integration platform Responsibilities • Analyze the full BizTalk 2016 landscape, including: • Orchestrations, pipelines, maps, schemas, adapters, and ports • Custom components, scripts, and extensions • Internal and external system dependencies • Security, deployment, and operational patterns • Document current-state architecture and integration flows • Identify risks related to end-of-life dependencies and unsupported components • Recommend a phased migration approach aligned with business timelines • Advise on best practices for re-implementing integrations in the target platform • Provide actionable guidance to internal teams during migration planning • Partner with internal stakeholders to answer technical questions and validate assumptions Required Qualifications • Deep hands-on experience with BizTalk Server 2016 • Proven track record leading or supporting BizTalk migration or modernization initiatives • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns and middleware architectures • Experience identifying and untangling complex or undocumented integrations • Ability to quickly assess existing systems and communicate risks clearly • Comfortable operating in a consulting/advisory capacity with limited oversight Preferred Qualifications • Experience migrating from BizTalk to modern or custom integration platforms • Familiarity with cloud-based integration or microservices architectures • Strong documentation and technical communication skills • Experience working with lean or resource-constrained internal teams Job Type: Contract Pay: $150.00 - $180.00 per hour Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
