The Biomedical Ethics Coordinator will assist with multidisciplinary research analysis, conduct literature searches, and manage data collection protocols while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulations.ResponsibilitiesThe biomedical ethics coordinator assists with multidisciplinary research analysis using a variety of analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skillsThe coordinator conducts comprehensive literature searches related to biomedical ethics initiatives and compiles and summarizes written and electronic data for research projectsResearches funding sources and collects necessary documents for participating in external research collaborationsWrites draft reports that clearly and concisely summarize and illustrate projects findings, outcomes and resultsDrafts sections of grants, abstracts and manuscriptsCollects and assists in designing data analysis strategies, evaluating data needs and methods of data collectionImplements the data collection protocol including IRB submissionsObtains consent and conducts interviews with study participantsAssists in reviewing study methodsEvaluates the reliability of data sources to ensure data integrityMaintains and completes appropriate study documents according to the study protocol, institutional policies, and government regulations, if applicableDetermines which study documents are appropriate and develops or creates additional documents as neededCoordinates multiple project assignments and is responsible for completing tasks in given timelineDesigns and maintains quantitative and qualitative databases including the management and updating of dataSkillsBachelor degree including substantial coursework in bioethics or health-related social sciences (psychology, medical sociology, medical anthropology, or public health)Research experience demonstrating either strong qualitative and/or quantitative backgroundExperience with previous research projects with quantitative and/or qualitative focusCompetent to work independently in most phases of research analysis, requiring only general instructions and directionDemonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and research methodologyAble to think logically and to systematically analyze alternative solutions in problem solvingKnowledgeable about a current health care delivery environmentDemonstrated interest in bioethicsThis position will also require a MN background checkMaster's degree in relevant field (medical anthropology, bioethics, public health) desirableBenefitsMedical: Multiple plan options.Dental: Delta Dental or reimbursement account for flexible coverage.Vision: Affordable plan with national network.Pre-Tax Savings: HSA and FSAs for eligible expenses.Retirement: Competitive retirement package to secure your future.Company OverviewMayoClinic is a nonprofit medical practice and medical research group focused on integrated health care, education, and research.
