Bioinformatics Associate, Prenatal

We are looking for a Bioinformatics Associate, Prenatal to join our Clinical Operations team to create computational tools to analyze groundbreaking molecule diagnostics. This person will be responsible for developing bioinformatics pipelines and analyzing next-generation DNA sequencing data under the guidance of bioinformatics scientists. This is a dynamic, start-up environment that requires adaptability and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. The Bioinformatics Associate role is a full-time onsite position in Menlo Park, CA and reports to the Senior Bioinformatics Scientist. Responsibilities: • Develop sophisticated and robust next-generation sequencing analysis pipelines under the guidance of a senior scientist • Perform analysis of clinical bioinformatics data • Assemble and analyze quality metrics from the clinical laboratory • Maintain analysis pipeline and operational tools using DevOps practices • Collaborate with scientists and support new scientific insights Qualifications: • BS or MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Bioengineering, Physics or related field • 1-2 years of biology research experience (either during BS/MS or afterwards) • Strong programming skills in Python, R or a similar language, especially with application to complex data processing and transformation • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams • Coursework or experience with molecular biology laboratory techniques and human genetics • High mathematical and statistical aptitude • Great attention to detail Nice-To-Haves: • Software Engineering experience, particularly with DevOps best practices • Experience with clinical laboratory operations • 1-2 years of research experience • Molecular biology (DNA purification, PCR, electrophoresis) or next-generation DNA sequencing laboratory experience Benefits And Perks: • Working alongside brilliant, kind, passionate and dedicated colleagues, in an empowering environment, toward a global vision, striving for a future in which transformative molecular diagnostics can help millions of patients • Open, transparent culture that includes weekly Town Hall meetings • The ability to indirectly or directly change the lives of hundreds of thousands patients • Multiple medical benefit options; employee premiums paid 100% of select plans, dependents covered up to 80% • Extremely generous Family Bonding Leave for new parents (16 weeks, paid at 100%) • Supplemental fertility benefits coverage • Retirement savings program including a 4% Company match • Increase paid time off with increased tenure • Latest and greatest hardware (laptop, lab equipment, facilities) • Free daily on-site lunches provided from top eateries • A variety of perks on campus (state of the art gym, restaurant) • Free on-site EV charging (compatible with all EVs, including Tesla) At BillionToOne, we are proud to offer a combination of a (1) base pay range (actual amount offered is based on experience and salary/equity options split that the candidate chooses), (2) generous equity options offering, (3) corporate bonus program, on top of (4) industry leading company benefits (free healthcare options, 401k match, very generous fully paid parental leave, etc.).
