Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Bilingual Interventionist Teacher to provide targeted reading support to elementary students who are reading below grade level. The successful candidate will be proficient in Spanish and English, with a strong background in bilingual education and a passion for working with diverse student populations. This is a full-time, 180-day position with a competitive salary based on experience and education. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement targeted reading programs and activities to meet the needs of students reading below grade level Assess student progress, identify areas of need, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support Utilize Response to Intervention (RtI) and Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) frameworks to inform instruction and promote a positive school climate Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades Communicate regularly with parents and school personnel regarding student progress Participate in team, department, and faculty meetings, as well as professional development opportunities Stay up-to-date with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods to inform instruction Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must possess: Illinois Professional Educator or Transitional Bilingual Educator License valid for Grades 1-3 with Spanish Bilingual approval or endorsement Master's Degree in Education or related field (Master's Degree in Reading or Bilingual Education preferred) 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an elementary school and/or bilingual classroom Strong knowledge of content and pedagogy, as well as experience with Response to Intervention (RtI) and Common Core State Standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents Proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks Preferred Qualifications Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to equity and inclusion Knowledge of bilingual education methodologies and best practices Experience with progress monitoring and assessment data analysis Strong organizational and time management skills What We Offer Woodland School District 50 offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as a supportive and collaborative work environment.
