About the role
As an Authorization Specialist, you will take the lead in securing medical authorizations from third party payers (commercial and government) for services provided by our partner clinics. The Benefits Authorization Specialist will be instrumental in obtaining written documentation, tracking, prioritizing and reporting outcomes of each authorization request.
Your responsibilities
Customer Service: Assists our partner clinics in determining patient eligibility for services.
Operations: Requests and receives benefit exports from partner clinics EHR. Analyzes export files and compiles eligibility reports for partner clinics. Works with payors to determine patient eligibility. Helps execute on and develop new processes that deliver timely and accurate benefit information to our partner clinics.
Compliance: Understands and practices agency policies and procedures and continually improves practices. Able to follow all legal rules and regulations
Requirements
Qualifications and background wed like to see
Must haves:
High-School graduate or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.
1 year of billing and coding experience in a healthcare environment.
Experience collaborating and building relationships in the healthcare space.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across multiple departments.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience using Electronic Health Record Systems
