Benefits & Payroll Manager
About Virtru:
While the rest of the security industry obsesses over locking data down to prevent it from being lost or stolen, we're doing something fundamentally different at Virtru. We're setting data free so that you can intentionally share it with others, but without sacrificing security, privacy, or control.
We've created both a suite of powerful data protection applications and an open platform that's sparking an ecosystem of innovation. Through the Trusted Data Format (TDF) open standard, we're not just protecting data; we're creating a new paradigm where security enables sharing rather than preventing it.
Think of us as the Android of data protection: a robust platform with an open core that developers and partners can build upon, coupled with our own best-in-class applications that showcase what's possible when you reimagine security from the ground up.
Backed by Iconiq Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Foundry Capital, and Tiger Global, we're helping Fortune 500 companies and government agencies discover that true data security means having the freedom to share, collaborate, and innovate — without compromise.Team & Position Details:

Manage eligibility feeds and troubleshoot carrier file transmission issues

Diagnose root causes when discrepancies arise and resolve issues independently when appropriate
Escalate compliance-sensitive, financially material, or systemic issues to leadership
Broker & Vendor Interface
Serve as primary operational contact with benefits broker and carriers
Resolve claim issues, eligibility errors, billing discrepancies, and enrollment problems
Track open issues to resolution and ensure clean follow-through
Support annual open enrollment logistics and implementation of approved plan changes
Coordinate required filings and documentation in partnership with broker and leadership
Employee Support & Issue Resolution
Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefit questions
Provide clear, empathetic guidance during complex or sensitive situations (claims, life events, coverage issues)
Translate technical benefit language into practical next steps
Troubleshoot issues across payroll, HRIS, and carrier platforms on behalf of employees
Maintain professionalism and discretion in high-emotion or high-stakes situations
Recognize patterns in employee concerns and recommend operational improvements
Compliance & Documentation
Maintain plan documents, notices, and required employee communications
Support compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, Section 125, and related regulations
Assist with annual filings (e.g., Form 5500) and audits
Ensure documentation and processes meet internal control standards
Skills that will help you thrive in this role:
5+ years of hands-on benefits administration experience
Strong understanding of health & welfare and retirement plan operations
