Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke's Health. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the hospital is the home of the Texas Heart Institute, a cardiovascular research and education institution founded in 1962 by Denton A. Cooley, MD. Responsibilities

• Except to deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
• Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy and imaging to care for cancer patients.

Specialty: Liquid and solid tumors, hematology floor, with multiple b lood transfusions in one shift, chemotherapy, good IV skills, good clinical judgement and assessment skills for recognizing oncologic emergencies, oncology trained nurses, 30% oncology certified nurses (OCN) - oncology specialty, minor spinal surgery overflow (laminectomies)

Other - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) trained for biochemotherapy infusions, RN IIIs & RN IVs engaged in shared governance serving in multiple hospital-based practice councils

Qualifications

Qualifications:
• Degree in Nursing from an accredited program college, or university
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years from date of hire.
• At least one (1) year of RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
