Background Investigator -Entry Level

Claims Bureau USA, Inc. is a licensed private detective agency, operating nationwide. We are currently looking for candidates to expand our Background Department, grow within the company, and make an impact on the investigative landscape. This position requires a curious, creative, and quick-thinking individual. Must be comfortable with in-depth Internet research, including via social media sources, court systems, and local/government agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, communication, and time-management skills. This is an entirely remote desktop role; as such, applicants must be self-directed, trustworthy, and detail oriented. Much of our casework is associated with fraud; however, we prioritize fact-based legal writing. Our investigative work is conducted with integrity. Prior experience conducting investigative work is preferred but not required. Applicants are welcome from all fields. Advancement is based on performance, and we prioritize a collaborative and encouraging work environment, with frequent communication and ongoing feedback. Examples of appropriate applicant majors include English, pre-law, sociology, anthropology, history, criminal justice, psychology, and additional research-based subjects. Note: This position does not require field work or independent investigative licensure or certifications(s). New investigators will participate in an extensive remote training program, featuring in-depth work with experienced investigators. Preliminary training will include frequent video communication, PowePoint presentations, case examples/exercises, and exposure to the various departments of Claims Bureau USA. Daily job duties include investigative research, synthesizing/summarizing findings into an investigative report, case discussion with upper management, and client communication.
