Backend Engineer, Tech Lead (Python, Django)

Cloudera is looking for a Backend Engineer, Tech Lead (Python, Django) to join the Data Visualization team and help drive development of Cloudera’s next-generation visual applications product. You will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering an application that accelerates user-driven data analytics from exploration to production. This role requires a customer-focused mindset and close collaboration with engineers, designers, docs, support, and product management. As a Backend Engineer, Tech Lead (Python, Django) you will: Be the technology leader and demonstrate ownership of critical platform services Gathering functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning Responsible for the design and architecture of the project Responsible for quality, engineering and operational excellence for the team’s deliverables Designing/developing web services with high availability and resiliency Resolve defects/bugs during system testing, pre-production, production, and post release patches Roughly 80% hands-on coding Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results Act in a technical leadership capacity: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems We’re excited about you if you have: 7+ years of experience developing applications using Python and Django; Experience building scalable, robust and secure Enterprise applications Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture process Self-driven and motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship Strong written and verbal communication skills You may also have: Experience with FastAPI Experience with containerization (Kubernetes) Experience with Linux Experience building scalable, robust and secure Enterprise applications Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCE, Azure) Experience with building and deploying generative AI applications What you can expect from us: Generous PTO Policy Support work life balance with Unplugged Days Flexible WFH Policy Mental & Physical Wellness programs Phone and Internet Reimbursement program Access to Continued Career Development Comprehensive Benefits and Competitive Packages Paid Volunteer Time Employee Resource Groups EEO/VEVRAA #LI-ZC1 #LI-REMOTE
