Title: Back-End Engineer - API & MCP Server Development Location: Hartford, CT (highly preferred) or Morristown, NJ. Duration: 6+ Months Contract role Role: Remote. Required Skills & Qualifications: 13-15 years of software engineering experience, preferably in back-end and cloud-based environments. Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in FastAPI and Pydantic. Deep understanding of RESTful API design, versioning, and documentation. Hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, ECS (Fargate or EC2-backed). Practical experience with containerization using Docker or Podman. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows. Strong understanding of microservices architecture and service orchestration. Experience with asynchronous programming in Python (e.g., asyncio, aiohttp). Exposure to infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK. Experience with monitoring and logging (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana). Good understanding of API and cloud security best practices. Additional Required Experience (as per latest guidelines): Must have at least one hands-on implementation of a GenAI project. Must have PoC/PoV experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar AI protocols for LLM integration. Experience working on AI platform components or orchestration layers is a strong plus. Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
