The Opportunity: On-Demand Mentors provide urgent project and technical support to students to advance their learning. Students often will encounter technical questions or roadblocks during the courses when their regular 1:1 mentor is not available. For these instances, the on-demand mentor can be a critical resource to answer questions and help unblock the student. How it works: Students can schedule one-off 30-minute mentor video calls through YouCanBookMe (YCBM) whenever they feel stuck or have questions that cannot wait to their next mentor call Students can choose an available time slot for the call or can choose a specific mento As with the regular mentor calls, there is no minimum time commitment or specific time-slot availability requirements for ODMC mentors, which means that ODMC mentors have the flexibility to decide their availability on their calendars for this offering. Expectations: Suggestion (not required) availability for at least 5 hours on average per week High degree of familiarity with the entire course curriculum Have empathy for students who are struggling Demonstrate excellent communication skills including being able to break down complex concepts for beginners Fill out feedback on the coach dashboard after each ODMC call Compensation: On-demand Mentors are compensated per call We will count your regular mentor calls at the end of each month and add your ODMC payment to your normal honorarium distribution We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
