Seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Azure Policy & IaC Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and governance of Azure Policy across Azure cloud environments using Terraform. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, security, and operational consistency within an Azure footprint. Involves working closely with cloud architects, security teams, and DevOps engineers to enforce standards and automate infrastructure deployment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Azure Policy Management
Design, author, and manage custom and built-in Azure Policies
Implement policy initiatives to enforce governance across subscriptions and management groups
Monitor policy compliance and remediate non-compliant resources
Terraform Automation
Develop and maintain Terraform modules for deploying Azure Policies and related resources
Integrate policy deployment into CI/CD pipelines
Ensure Terraform code adheres to best practices and is version-controlled
Governance & Compliance
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to translate requirements into enforceable policies
Conduct regular audits and generate reports on policy compliance
Provide guidance and training to teams on policy implications and remediation
Collaboration & Documentation
Work with cross-functional teams to align policy enforcement with business needs
Document policy definitions, deployment processes, and remediation workflows
Stay current with Azure updates and Terraform enhancements
Required
Proven experience with Azure Policy and Terraform in enterprise environments
Strong understanding of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and Azure governance frameworks
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO)
Excellent scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and JSON authoring
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-500, AZ-104, AZ-305)
Experience with Terraform Cloud/Enterprise
Knowledge of Azure Blueprints, Landing Zones, and Bicep
