Job Title : Senior Azure Data Migration Lead – Dynamics 365
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Lead to support a large-scale enterprise transformation program migrating legacy systems into Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform.
This role will lead the design and execution of complex data migration strategies involving legacy platforms such as mainframes, SQL-based systems, and other enterprise applications, ensuring data quality, integrity, and successful transition into the target Dynamics 365 environment.
The ideal candidate has deep experience delivering end-to-end data migration workstreams on large programs, including data assessment, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, and migration execution.
Key Responsibilities
Data Migration Strategy
• Define and lead the data migration strategy and execution plan for migrating legacy data into Dynamics 365.
• Assess legacy data sources including mainframe systems, SQL databases, flat files, and other enterprise platforms.
• Develop data migration frameworks, repeatable migration cycles, and governance processes.
Data Analysis & Mapping
• Lead data discovery and profiling activities across legacy systems.
• Define source-to-target mapping between legacy data structures and Dynamics 365 Dataverse entities.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues, transformation rules, and normalization requirements.
Migration Execution
• Design and oversee migration processes using tools such as:
• Azure Data Factory
• SSIS
• Azure Data Lake
• Dataverse APIs
• ETL frameworks
• Support multiple migration cycles, including:
• Initial migration
• Mock migrations
• Final production migration
Data Validation & Reconciliation
• Define data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Partner with functional teams to validate migrated data against business requirements.
• Establish data quality monitoring and exception management processes.
Program Collaboration
• Work closely with:
• Functional consultants
• Solution architects
• Integration teams
• Testing teams
• Support UAT and cutover planning related to data migration activities.
Governance & Documentation
• Produce and maintain key migration artifacts including:
• Data mapping documents
• Transformation rules
• Data dictionaries
• Migration runbooks
• Data reconciliation reports
Required Qualifications
• 7–12+ years of experience in enterprise data migration and integration initiatives
• Experience supporting large-scale CRM implementations
• Strong experience migrating data into Dynamics 365 / Dataverse environments
• Hands-on experience with SQL, ETL tools, and large data sets
• Experience working with legacy enterprise platforms including mainframes
• Strong experience with:
• SQL Server
• Data transformation and cleansing
• Data mapping and reconciliation
• Experience executing multiple migration cycles and production cutovers
• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality management
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with:
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse
• SSIS
• Dataverse APIs
• Experience migrating data into:
• Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement
• Dynamics 365 Sales
• Dynamics 365 Service
• Experience with large government or healthcare transformation programs
