Azure Cloud Engineer 12 Month Remote Contract
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor the Azure/Cloud environments for performance, security and improvement opportunities
• Assist in the management and implementation of Azure windows patching per our guidelines and requirements
• Assist with the rapid delivery of Azure services as requested by internal customers, internal projects and automated service tickets
• Engage on advanced Azure projects including system architectural conversations.
• Work directly with the application support teams, internal customers, 3rd party vendors and Microsoft for timely resolution of support requests
• Support of other Microsoft cloud services e.g. Active Directory, Config Manager, SQL, InTune, Microsoft 365
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree or Equivalent technical certifications and experience
• 3+ years of experience in a structured support environment
• 2+ years supporting and configuring Azure platforms
• Strong experience in implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security
• Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment issues, including performance, connectivity, & security
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources
• Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Windows Authentication
• Detailed knowledge of Exchange, Intune and other E5 features and configurations
• Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
• Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
• Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
• Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting.
