Role: AWS Cloud Administrator Employment Type: Contract Work location: Carson City, Nevada - (PST time zone) Work mode: Hybrid About the Role We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Administrator to join our dynamic team. As an AWS Cloud Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of our AWS-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud operations and AWS administration. . What You'll Be Doing: • Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across multiple environments including development, staging, and production • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and proactive issue resolution • Implement and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery procedures, and ensure business continuity through automated processes and regular testing • Configure and manage AWS services including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, RDS databases, VPC networks, IAM users and roles, and other core AWS services • Perform regular system maintenance activities including patching, updates, and configuration changes while minimizing downtime and business impact • Implement and maintain security controls, access management, and compliance policies in accordance with industry standards and organizational requirements • Automate routine administrative tasks using AWS CLI, PowerShell, Python scripts, and Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems across AWS environments • Manage cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing instances, implementing auto-scaling, and monitoring resource utilization to control AWS spending • Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides • Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments, environment provisioning, and CI/CD pipeline operations • Stay current with AWS service updates, new features, and best practices to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure Why Join Us: • Be part of a rapidly rising, global technology innovator whose platforms and services are engaged by Fortune 1000 companies and industry leaders such as Microsoft & Amazon. • Immerse yourself in a culture where creativity is celebrated and encouraged. • Engage in thrilling projects and opportunities for your professional growth. • Contribute to our quest to redefine the industry. • Competitive compensation and benefits with occasional distinctive benefits that set us apart. Who you are: • Minimum 8 years of IT Infrastructure experience • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud administration and operations • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and operational best practices • Proficiency in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and AWS Systems Manager • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve system issues • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and document technical procedures Technical Skills Required: • AWS Services: Hands-on experience managing EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Systems Manager, and other core AWS services • Cloud Security: Experience implementing and maintaining AWS security best practices including IAM policies, security groups, encryption, and compliance frameworks • Networking: Strong understanding of AWS networking including VPC configuration, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and network troubleshooting • Monitoring & Logging: Proficiency with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and third-party monitoring tools for infrastructure observability • Backup & Recovery: Experience implementing automated backup solutions using AWS Backup, EBS snapshots, and cross-region replication strategies • Automation: Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK) • Performance Optimization: Knowledge of rightsizing, auto-scaling, load balancing, and cost optimization techniques • High Availability: Experience configuring multi-AZ deployments, elastic load balancing, and failover mechanisms • Containerization: Familiarity with Docker containers and AWS container services like ECS or EKS • DevOps Integration: Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and working with version control systems like Git • Database Administration: Basic knowledge of RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB administration and backup/recovery procedures • Cost Management: Understanding of AWS billing, cost allocation tags, Reserved Instances, and cost optimization strategies Education: • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate are highly desirable • Additional certifications in Linux/Windows system administration or cloud technologies are a plus Apply tot his job
