The Role

The Associate Vice President, National Sales leads a rapidly growing, self-funded sales organization across the Americas, responsible for generating new business for Hyatt and driving sustained top-line performance. This leader combines entrepreneurial vision with strategic discipline to expand Hyatt's market presence, strengthen value for owners and operators, and position the company competitively for the future.

Strategic Vision & Market Growth
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with enterprise commercial goals, incorporating market analysis, target segmentation, and competitive dynamics.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the Small to Mid-Market sector, with a focus on expanding market share and accelerating growth.
• Build specialization within industry verticals that propel emerging brands and priority markets.
• Regularly review fee structures to ensure competitiveness, alignment with industry standards, and clear value articulation.
Sales Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, inspire, and scale a high-performing sales force through coaching, skill development, and performance-driven leadership.
• Establish data-driven goals by monitoring key sales metrics and performance indicators; adjust strategy to optimize productivity and outcomes.
• Launch and oversee a dedicated team of specialized sales professionals supporting openings, conversions, and priority hotels to accelerate ramp-up and maximize revenue contribution.
Client Relationships & Account Strategy
• Build and nurture strong relationships with key accounts, deeply understanding their needs and ensuring Hyatt provides forward-looking, value-driven solutions.
• Partner internally to deliver innovative commercial solutions that strengthen long-term partnerships and drive incremental revenue in the region.
Operational Excellence
• Establish clear policy standards and operating procedures for the National Sales organization to ensure consistency, accountability, and transparency.
• Implement governance processes to oversee execution, compliance, portfolio management, and performance measurement across all sales programs.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency through documented workflows, technology adoption, and ongoing process optimization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with Global Sales, Commercial Services, Brand, and Operations to improve communication, streamline decision-making, and align efforts toward shared topline objectives.
• Educate properties across the Americas on the value, capabilities, and strategic mandate of the National Sales organization to foster alignment, advocacy, and adoption.
Qualifications:
Experience Required:
• 12+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5-7 years leading large, multi-market or regional sales organizations.
• Proven track record of driving sustained top-line revenue growth across complex portfolios or distributed teams.
• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and transforming high-performing sales organizations.
• Experience managing P&L responsibility or operating within a self-funded or performance-based business model.
• Strong financial acumen, including pricing strategy, fee structure evaluation, and ROI-driven decision-making.
• Experience developing specialized vertical strategies to drive growth across diverse customer segments.
• Experience establishing governance models, sales operating standards, and performance measurement frameworks.
• Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to articulate strategy to owners, operators, and senior leadership

Experience Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Business Management.
• Hospitality industry experience, preferably within a global brand or multi-brand portfolio.
• Expertise using CRM systems and sales analytics tools to drive data-informed decision-making.
• Experience supporting hotel openings, conversions, and ramp-up strategies.
• Familiarity with owner/operator dynamics and asset-light business models.

The salary range for this position is $200,00 to $220,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards, an annual bonus, monthly or quarterly incentives, etc.

The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
