Job Summary:
Undertaking preventive maintenance services and carrying out thorough inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on equipment and vehicles are tasks performed by the Automotive Diesel Technician under general supervision.
Vital Job Responsibilities:
The fulfillment of each indispensable duty's criteria at a satisfactory level is vital for triumphantly fulfilling this position. Additional minor duties may also be assigned.
The required completion of tasks is based on established procedures and written guidelines, with limited guidance and supervision.
Carries out restoration and allotted anticipatory maintenance services.
The individual carries out inspections, diagnoses, and corrections of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air constructions that are operated in automobiles and vehicles.
Relies on the advanced vehicle computer systems to detect and analyze potential failure modes, facilitating prompt and effective repairs.
Evaluating the anticipated costs of repairing automobiles and procuring new parts is a fundamental task for mechanics.
Consistently meets the Standard Repair Time (SRT) requirements while performing all tasks.
Emergent requests for service are attended with quick turnaround times.
Performing comprehensive safety assessments on vehicles is necessary to prevent potential hazards from occurring.
Utilizing fleet maintenance software is vital in completing necessary paperwork for effectively documenting vehicle repairs, tracking part usage, and accounting for repair times.
Collaborates with and supports senior Mechanics to finish project tasks.
Keeping vehicles running smoothly and safely is a top priority for all parties involved. Regular monitoring of the Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports ensures that necessary repairs are assigned and completed in a timely manner.
Strives to maintain a secure and tidy workspace at all times, in accordance with Corporate and OSHA Standards for safety.

The Role of Education and Experience in Career Progression
