Here, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.Newsweek Recognizes Sedgwick as America’s Greatest Workplaces National Top CompaniesCertified as a Great Place to Work®Fortune Best Workplaces in Financial Services & InsuranceAuto Appraiser - (Catastrophic Loss)PRIMARY PURPOSE: To inspect, identify, and evaluate auto vehicles involved in a loss.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIESAppraises and determines costs of repairs to damaged vehicle in the field; determines repair versus replace and parts utilization.Evaluates and determines if the vehicle is repairable or salvageable based on industry standard estimatics software.Travels to inspection locations to appraise vehicles in the field.Prepares estimates using estimatics software.Works directly with auto repair facilities to determinate supplemental repair processing and provides a supplemental estimate.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms other duties as assigned.Travels as required.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & LicensingHigh school diploma or GED required. Licenses as required by state guidelines.ExperienceThree (3) years of related experience to include at least one (1) year of appraisal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Skills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of automobilesAbility to understand and utilize appraisal softwarePC literate, including Microsoft Office productsStrong organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent negotiating skillsAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to meet or exceed Performance CompetenciesWORK ENVIRONMENTWhen applicable and appropriate, consideration will be given to reasonable accommodations.Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlinesPhysical: Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; must be able to kneel, squat, or bend; must be able to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions; have the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, reach/work overhead; be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds; be able to drive up to 4 hours per day; and must have continual use of manual dexterityAuditory/Visual: Hearing, vision and talkingThe statements contained in this document are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by a colleague assigned to this description.
