Autism Behavior Technician
About the position The Autism Behavior Technician position at LittleStar ABA Therapy is a vital role focused on implementing individualized programs for patients affected by autism. Technicians work directly with children, teens, and young adults to help them develop essential skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). This position offers a dynamic work environment where each day presents new challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families. Responsibilities • Implement individualized programs designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). • Assist patients in learning new skills related to social, communication, vocational, and life skills. • Provide therapy in various settings including the therapy center, home, school, workplace, and community-based locations. • Engage in physical activities and manage patient behavior as needed. • Build relationships with patients and advocate for their needs. Requirements • A passion for helping others, patience, and kindness. • Dependable and responsible with strong time management and organizational skills. • Effective communication skills with patients, families, and staff. • High school diploma or equivalent. • At least 18 years of age. • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and clean driving record. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and engage in physical activities. • RBT certification or willingness to obtain it during the training period. Nice-to-haves • Experience in psychology, social work, speech and occupational therapy, or education. • Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
