Authorization Specialist

Job Summary Our client is seeking an Authorization Specialist for a contract assignment. The primary responsibility is to manage authorization requests within the EMR system following payer and state guidelines. The specialist will collaborate with clinic staff to ensure precise documentation and provide feedback to improve authorization processes. Key Responsibilities • Submit authorization requests timely within EMR following specific guidelines. • Partner with front desk staff to ensure complete documentation for submission. • Provide feedback to improve authorization or verification processes. • Respond to authorization-related queries effectively. • Address denials timely and prevent further denials through feedback. • Verify insurance information accurately for same day or walk-in patients. • Secure authorizations for Workers Compensation patients before treatment. • Complete batch eligibility requests regularly and follow-up. • Assist with training for both new and existing A&V team members. • Maintain professional relationships with teammates and vendors. • Run reports to monitor authorization and benefits accurately. • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership. Skills • Strong authorization experience. • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinic staff and vendors. • Proficient in EMR systems and data reporting.
