• Monitor and provide guidance to fee office managers to ensure compliance with County policy and procedures, accounting practices, and State statutes.
• Review, verify, and post cash entries to bank deposits and resolves any discrepancies.
• Monitor and reconcile expenditures to budgeted funds.
• Review payroll postings for accuracy, prepare correcting entries, and approve payments to third parties.
• Monitor and reconcile the balances of the County's general ledger accounts.
• Evaluate accounts receivables and determine collectability.

• Reviews large fee office activity. Analyzes financial data for appropriate financial reporting and identifies potential issues.
• Confirms all County funds have been remitted on time.
• Reviews and posts cash and credit card deposits prepared by other departments to the ledger.
• Analyzes accounts receivables and determines the collectability of revenue. Creates necessary accounting entries.
• Serves as a resource and provides guidance to fee office financial managers regarding accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance with and the implementation of State statutes and County policies and procedures. May research State statutes to ensure compliance and appropriate account recording. May work with IT in the development and configuration of system changes due to new fees or changes in State statutes.
• Monitors and reconciles the balances of the County's general ledger accounts. Reviews and approves check requests for accuracy, compliance, and proper coding.
• Evaluates payroll posting to ensure payroll results are accurately reflected and prepares correcting entries including the review and reconciliation of payments to third parties. Communicates resolutions to HR and Payroll.
• Monitors revenues and expenditures to the budget. Reconciles actual capital expenses to the budget and communicates results to Facilities, Budget, IT, and other departments.
• Prepares schedules and documents for outside auditors.
• Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the department as assigned or required.

TO APPLY, must have a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in accounting or a business-related field. Advanced degree preferred.

TO APPLY, must have Three (3) full-time years of accounting or auditing work experience.

TO APPLY, must possess current and valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. Note: A Texas driver license is required to hold the position.

CPA preferred, but not required.

Proficient use of spreadsheets and word processing.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge of SAP, HR, Odyssey, JIMS, and IDEA preferred.

If hired, must provide proof of educational attainment
at New Hire Processing or during the promotional process.
