Audiobook Proofreader / QC Listener
I own a voice over recording studio, work myself as an Audible Approved Producer, and also help record via punch and roll multiple other narrators in a vocalbooth.com booth equipped with a Neumann TLM 103. I'm seeking a detail-oriented audiobook proofreader to review recorded narration for accuracy and quality. The role involves listening to the audiobook while following along with the manuscript to identify and log errors such as: • Mispronunciations, missing words, or added words • Awkward or unnatural pauses • Inconsistent pacing or tone • Audible glitches or background noise • Any deviation from the written text You’ll provide a detailed error log (timestamped) so corrections can be made before publication. Being a studio with multiple audiobook clients, I am potentially seeking multiple proofreaders to provide assistance for ongoing work happening at the studio. Requirements: • Strong attention to detail and excellent English comprehension • Ability to follow a text closely while listening • Experience proofreading audiobooks, podcasts, or other spoken-word content preferred • Familiarity with audio production or editing standards a plus • Reliable communication and timely turnaround Bonus: Experience working in audiobook production, voice-over, or post-production quality control is highly valued.
